Desktop Active Recovery

Desktop Active Recovery

This error occurs when multiple Users login to a TS session under the same login ID. Both users make changes to the Desktop and when they log out the system is not sure which profile should be saved.

 How to Resolve:

Before rebuilding the account make sure the User is logged off.

<!—[if !supportLists]—>1.  Go to the Terminal Server access C:\Documents and Settings, find the User’s folder and delete it. <!—[endif]—>

<!—[if !supportLists]—>2.   Continue over to Hudson 1A access D:\Profiles$ find the User’s profile folder. This file cannot be deleted automatically, right click on the folder and go to properties, select the security tab (You will be prompted with a security message select ok). <!—[endif]—>

<!—[if !supportLists]—>3.   Go to the Advanced tab, under Advanced Security go to the Owner tab and select the Administrator. Check the box (Replace owner on subcontainers and objects). Now you should have Full control and will be able to remove the folder.<!—[endif]—>

Once the steps above are completed, open a new Terminal Service session as the User to make sure the Desktop Active Recovery message is no longer displayed on the Desktop.
