Summary: "Framing" of a Hudson Web reservation site is the process of taking the web site and embedding it within another (HTML) web page. This "Frame" might have other links, borders, banners, footers, etc on the perimeter / margins, linking to other places on the client’s marketing website. Hudson does NOT recommend framing our reservation website for several reasons which are outlined below. We do however have options that will provide your users a more integrated experience.
Issues with
Framing:
<!—[if !supportLists]—>1. <!—[endif]—>SSL Security: To provide a secure reservation site, Hudson purchases and maintains an SSL security certificate. Most browsers will issue a warning when trying to frame a secure website. This can be confusing to end users, and is the primary reason that we do not recommend HTML framing.
<!—[if !supportLists]—>2. <!—[endif]—>Compatibility Issues: Not all web browsers support inline frames the same way. This can cause unexpected, and unsupported problems with our web technologies.
Alternative
Integration Options:
<!—[if !supportLists]—>1. <!—[endif]—>New Window Targeting: The simplest integration is to
target a new browser window when linking to Hudson web applications. Clicking on a link to start the reservation process results in a new browser window / or tab, being launched.
<!—[if !supportLists]—>2. <!—[endif]—>Direct HTML integration: Advanced Web designers can format
buttons and links so that you can change the entry point of our web
applications. These Buttons CAN be inserted into your marketing website, and give the appearance that your site is actually taking the booking. Selecting a button will usually result in a new window / tab being opened in your browser (preceding paragraph).
<!—[if !supportLists]—>3. <!—[endif]—>Hudson Shopping Cart Webhosting: For an additional fee you can choose our “Shopping Cart” option. In this scenario Hudson will set up a customized web site and host your domain and SSL certificate.
