HWeb Quick
HWeb Quick
Overview
HWeb Quick is an application that allows for staff and employees (and even clients in the case of KIOSK) to have limited and restricted access to only a single feature of the product. The application that is started may allow staff to sign themselves in and out of their work shifts, saving a dispatcher several steps and considerable time.
HWeb Quick
There are currently five applications that may be launched via HWeb Quick:
- DriverSignInOut - Allows driver to do self checkin and checkout from shifts
- EmployeeSignInOut - Allows employees to do self checkin and checkout from shifts
- VehicleInOut - Allows Dispatchers to load Vehicle In/Out Tool without starting Dispatcher
- StandAloneGrids - Allows Dispatchers/Staff to view Grids without starting Dispatcher
- Kiosk - Allows clients to place online reservations via a computer Kiosk
In order to setup any one of the first four applications, you need to create a shortcut on the Windows Desktop and then modify the command line options in the shortcut properties. This will tell Hweb what application or "view" to launch when using this shortcut. In this fashion, it is possible to have multiple HWeb Quick shortcuts on the desktop; each performing a different function.
The fifth application listed above, Kiosk, requires additional setup and configuration by Hudson Tech Support and Web Marketing Department. Contact Tech Support for additional assistance with the Kiosk setup.
Login Screen and UserID’s
Launching any of the HWeb Quick applications will result in the customary HWeb Login screen being displayed. If you wish to give drivers or other staff limited access to the system, it may be done without issuing login accounts for each staff member. A Userid and Password may be entered into the command line of the shortcut, thereby automatically logging a person in with a low-level id and password that they will never know or see.- Create a generic login id and password: example: ID= driversigninout, PW=driversigninout
- Edit the user priveleges: the only privelege that needs to be checked: Allowed to use HWeb Agent
- Return to the HWeb Quick shortcut. Right click on the shortcut and then select Properties.
- In the Target line, enter the following: /userid=ID,PASSWORD (substitute the ID and Password that you created in step 1 above). This information is best entered near the end of the command line, but before the path and directory that points to the HWeb.ini file. Make sure there is a single empty space after the end of the /userid line and the beginning of the HWeb.ini path.
- Test the shortcut - the login screen should be bypassed.
DriverSignInOut
A shortcut may be created that allows drivers to click, and be taken directly to (and only to) a check-in / check-out screen where they may enter their driver ID (established in Tools Configuration Drivers) followed by their Vehicle Number. Two Additional fields may also be displayed on the Sign In / Sign Out screen if desired: Mileage and, Comm Device. To enable the display of these items, go to Tools Configuration Advanced Features Driver Assign Tab, and put a check mark next to DISPLAY COMMUNICATION DEVICE SELECTION, and/or change the Require Start and Ending Mileage to ALWAYS.DriverSignInOut Command Line Options:
/DriverSignInOut
When clicking
the shortcut, allows a default login name and password to be entered,
thereby eliminating the login screen and process. Should be used with
caution and should only be used with a default ID and Password with
limited User Access Priveledges.

A Brief Login Message may be created and displayed on the Sign In screen:
- Open MS Word, or other text application. Enter desired text and save as *.rtf document on the Server in the HWebTemplates folder.
- Enter configuration and create a Template with Alias similar to DriverSignOnMessage.
- Template Type is: Driver sign in/out message
- In the Primary File field, browse to and enter the name of the *rtf document created in step 1 above.
- Click Update and Save Changes to DB.
- When staff now use the DriverSignInOut shortcut, your template message will display at the top of the screen.
EmployeeSignInOut
A shortcut may be created that allows employees and staff to click, and be taken
directly to (and only to) a check-in / check-out screen where they may
enter their employee ID (established in Tools Configuration Employees) and then start click to Start or End their work shift. If a shift has been scheduled for this employee, the scheduled time will be displayed for them. Once a shift has been started, opening the Sign In / Out tool a subsequent time will allow an employee to start and end a break period (up to 3 times per work shift) or sign out and end their shift. Total and Elapsed times for shifts and breaks will be displayed.
EmployeeSignInOut Command Line Options:
/EmployeeSignInOut
Loads
the Employee shift sign in and sign out screen. Allows employee to check
him/herself in and start their shift.
When clicking
the shortcut, allows a default login name and password to be entered,
thereby eliminating the login screen and process. Should be used with
caution and should only be used with a default ID and Password with
limited User Access Priveledges.

VehicleInOut
A shortcut may be created that allows dispatchers (or others) to click, and be taken
directly to (and only to) the Vehicle In / Out screen where they may attach drivers to vehicles and then put them on the road or take them off the road after a shift is completed. As with the Driver In / Out tool described in a section above, it is possible to have a generic user id and password automatically entered so that the Login screen is bypassed, if desired.
VehicleInOut Command Line Options:
/VehicleInOut
When clicking
the shortcut, allows a default login name and password to be entered,
thereby eliminating the login screen and process. Should be used with
caution and should only be used with a default ID and Password with
limited User Access Priveledges.

StandAloneGrids
A shortcut may be created that allows dispatchers or others to open view-only dispatcher grids without having to start and load the Dispatcher application. This may be useful for Agents, drivers, airport greeterts, etc. who wish to view the status of flights or clients travelling at that specific moment, or who need to view a custom dispatcher grid. This feature may be configured to allow a grid to be viewed, but no information regarding the trip or reservation to be be modified./DISPGRID
Final layout of insert on Command Line:
"/DISPGRID /FULLSCREEN /FILE=<dispatcher grid file path>"
/userid=name,password
A Brief Login Message may be created and displayed on the Sign In screen:
- Open MS Word, or other text application. Enter desired text and save as *.rtf document on the Server in the HWebTemplates folder.
- Enter configuration and create a Template with Alias similar to DriverSignOnMessage.
- Template Type is: Driver sign in/out message
- In the Primary File field, browse to and enter the name of the *rtf document created in step 1 above.
- Click Update and Save Changes to DB.
