How to Reset a BlackBerry to Factory Default Settings
**WARNING***
Following
these instructions will reset your BlackBerry device to manufacturer
defaults! All data (contacts, calendar items, applications, email
accounts, messages etc. ) photos, themes etc. will be lost and deleted
and may not be recovered. Your device will be reset to ‘like-new’
condition.
These steps may be followed and may be useful when you are
retiring a unit from service and do not want to leave any data on the
device. It may also be useful if you wish to reset a unit to factory
defaults and begin anew. These instructions should apply to most
BlackBerry units but the menu may be different for your device:
Options Menu
Security Options
General Settings
Menu
Wipe Handset
(you will need to key in the word "blackberry" and press the return key)
The
"wipe" process takes a couple minutes. The device will restart and
will be reset to factory default settings and all data will be gone!
