Setting up ALERT for Hudson Credit Card Processing

******This information is intended primarily as a reference for Hudson Tech Support staff.  It involves adjusting the setup and configuration of your Hudson and ALERT applications. Errors made in this process could result in your system ceasing to function, or could result in erratic behavior. ******

  1. Setup and install the Hudson ALERT Bridge (1.89i or later)
  2. Insert Variable
  3. Inspect \ adjust the hweb.ini configuration file
  4. Check logging

1: Setup and Install the Hudson ALERT Bridge
This topic is covered in greater detail in this KB article.  Review the contents of this article first and then return here to complete the remaining steps.

Ensure that Charge32.exe has been created in the C:\ALERT folder and that it has the ALERT application logo associated with it. This is the executable that launches the Credit Charge utility.

<<NOTE:
IF ALERT Software is reinstalled or updated, it may overwrite the
Charge32.exe. This would result in loss of Internet Credit Card
processing functionality.  It may be a good idea to create a copy of
the executable and rename it Charge32.bak or similar BEFORE any
re-installs or updates!>>

Click Tools -> Log Parameters
In the Trace Settings window
Enter: "C:\DOCUME~1\<UserName>\LOCALS~1\Temp\8\HWeb\HWEB Utilities\app" or similar - as appropriate and if not already set.   The Log files are then accessed by going to %temp% and browsing to HWeb \ Utilities \ app folder.
