Correcting Database Corruptions on WinNT and Win2000 Servers
NOTE: In addition to making the below change to the registry, all machines accessing the database must have either Jet 4.0 SP 5 (for NT/98/95) installed or be at service pack level 2 (Win2000).
WARNING : Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require that you reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems that result from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. Before making any modifications to the registry, you should make a backup of the registry.
1. On the file server machine where the database resides, open Regedit and select the following key:
2. Next, create a new DWORD value under this key named EnableOplocks.
Leave the default value of zero in there and then close regedit.
3. Re-boot the file server machine. At this point OpLocks will be disabled from the start, and this should avoid the Jet corruption problem.
