Setting Time Date Columns so they remain fixed when scrolling horizontally

How to ‘lock’ or ‘freeze’ display columns in Dispatcher grids:

A very common setup of many Reservation and Trip grids within a HWeb Dispatcher Desktop, is to place the Pickup date/time column to the far left of the grid, and then to sort in ascending sequence. Other columns are then added so that the remainder of the available grid space is configured to display desired reservation or trip details.  After available display space has been filled, additional columns may be added but must be then viewed by using and moving the scroll bar that appears at the bottom of the grid.

When using the scroll bar to move horizontally to the right, as columns to the right are brought into view, the column(s) on the left are hidden from view…including most often, the pickup time column.  By following the steps below, you will be able to ‘lock’ the first one to several columns, so that they do not become hidden from view when using the scroll bar to move horizontally to the right, within a grid.

For each grid you wish to lock a field/column:
Right mouse on any column heading and select Grid Properties
Select the Colors & Font tab
Locate the value "Frozen Columns" in the Description column
In the field under the Value column, Enter how many columns, counting from the left margin, you wish to ‘lock’ and always display (ex: Col 1 contains the ResID, Col 2 displays the Pickup Time. I always wish these 2 colunns to display when scrolling horizontally to view other fields. I will set the value in the Frozen Columns field = 2).
Click OK when finished.

The result is immediate and you can test your new configuration before saving the changes. If you wish to keep this modification, make sure you click File - Save.
