Terminal Server Desktops updated to Windows Server 2012

To all hosted Hudson Clients – your hosted system is growing again!

The Hudson Group is excited to announce that during the week of April 7, 2014 clients logging into Hudson’s hosted cloud environment will begin to see a new Microsoft Windows desktop environment.  We are in the process of updating our cloud servers from Windows Server 2008 to Windows Server 2012 to bring you the latest and fastest systems and highest levels of security!  Those users who are familiar with or have seen Microsoft’s recent Windows 8 Operating System will recognize the interface.

Rest assured, nothing will change in the way your desktop looks or works or the way you launch your Hudson applications. You will, however, notice a different interface when you first connect to the server as well as when you are ready to log off the cloud server.  Please take a brief look at the images below to orient yourself to the new look and feel.

When you first login to the Hudson Cloud, you will see a Welcome Screen similar to the one below where your log in ID will be displayed in the top right corner:

Clicking most any of the icons displayed will take you to your more familiar desktop where you will still have your Hudson shortcuts and files:

When you are finished working for the day, you will click on the small “Windows” icon in the lower left corner of your screen, traditionally located where the “Start” button has been on previous versions of Windows. This will return you to the Welcome Screen:

When you have returned to the initial Welcome Screen, you will click on your User ID in the top right corner and select the “Sign Out” option.

Although we suspect most users will quickly adapt to these slight differences logging in and out of Hudson through Windows 8, our dedicated technicians on Hudson’s Technical Support Team will be available to answer any questions you may have.
